BJ - Scrapbook Remix Page 3

I enjoyed a lovely day scrapbooking at home yesterday with my mum and Cindy. Thanks ladies - we need to organise a scrap day more often.

I completed another layout from Shimelle's Scrapbook Remix class. This time I have used 3 colours in the mix - red, blue and green. To my original kit of 3 Bugs in a Rug papers I have added an unknown green paper (could be from a K & Co paper pad??), more of the blue chevron from Crate paper and some embellishments from Studio Calico and Basic Grey (the sweet little flag)

I am enjoying scrapbooking some baby photos from almost ten years ago - where does that time go. Love these pics of my BJ (and look I used that Dinosaur paper - finally).

Always Together

This is my second layout from Prompt 1 of Shimelle's class Scrapbook Remix. Once again I have based my layout on Shimelle's example.

Carrying on with the same papers from yesterday's post this layout is two colours (well mainly - just ignore that multicoloured stripe) - blue and green. I have "mixed in" some Echo Park For the Record, Crate Paper Storyteller, a Making Memories Note book sheet and Scenic Route (the blue and green chevron).

I embellished with some October Afternoon label stickers, wood veneers from Studio Calico, red brads and a chipboard number.

Not the best photos of my little man with "his puppies" but they make me laugh. Poor puppies are always getting cuddles (whether they like it or not).

Scrapbook Remix

I have started a new class from Shimelle.

Prompts have started arriving in my inbox and I have started sorting through mountains of paper (well maybe it is not quite that bad). My giveaway box is just about overflowing at this stage but it feels good to know what I have I will use.

Of course the focus of the class is not getting rid of paper but using older collections with new (the declutter has just been a side effect).

The first part of prompt 1 was to pick a paper collection (Shimelle used a summery collection). I have pulled out from archives 3 Bugs in a Rug Playtime.

I purchased it originally because those little dinosaurs were so cute and it has now sat in my collection for way too long. So cute yes, useable maybe not so much.

Now to the remixing... taking it slowly we created monochromatic layouts.

My first effort combines My Minds Eye Bohemia paper (from around 7 or 8 years ago) with an MME Christmas paper, and a strip of Websters pages from my scrap basket (another welcome side effect of this class is that I am actually using some of those scraps!!). Combined with Lil Davis and Daisy D Rubons, Making Memories fabric flowers, chipboard pieces, a small piece of german scrap, an October Afternoon label, Tim Holtz Tissue Tape, some butterflies stamped onto a transparency and Shimelle's page design I created this:

The paper from the original kit is the aqua polka dot. Here is a closer look at the embellishments.

If you are in need of some scrapbooking inspiration I would highly recommend Shimelle's class.

Hopefully I will find some time this afternoon to attempt some of the other prompts (and maybe even use that dinosaur paper).

Happy scrapping

Lisa
